Better Than French Version But Room For Improvement!
posted on

I bought German Vocabulary along with the French Vocabulary as I am currently learning the two languages having pretty much mastered Spanish.
This is better than the French Vocabulary (to which I gave 3 stars) While it is of the same disappointingly short length the exercises are more thorough and challenging, in the form of German question/answers. This is rather than the True/False and ambiguous Start-Finish lists for which there is no correct answer that I found in the French Vocabulary.
There is definitely more scope for praticing your written German in this book and I would say that with a few more exercises and more extensive writing tasks this book could compete with the excellent Spanish Vocabulary of this series. Surprisingly, the Spanish Vocabulary is twice the length of the French and German and is far more thorough and helpful. I never expected to find such variation in the same series as I have with these three publications.
Better than the French Vocabulary but still room to expand the tasks to be on a par with Deveney Richmond's Spanish workbooks!
Thanks
